Ayahuasca at Banco Puma Sanctuary is held by the Acho family within the Lamista lineage.
Maestro Don Rober Acho Jarama and his family have carried this work for decades, preparing and serving the medicine within the same family structure that has sustained the tradition across generations.
Participants do not enter a retreat center separated from daily life.
They step into the family ground where the work is already living.
Ceremony, preparation, meals, and integration all take place within this shared structure.
The purpose of the Ayahuasca retreat is preparation.
It clears what is misaligned, reveals what needs to be seen, and establishes the foundation for the work that follows.

Huachuma Mesada — Initiation into the Three Shamanic Worlds

After the Ayahuasca retreat, the work continues with Huachuma.
Huachuma is carried through the Chavín tradition of the Andes, one of the oldest ceremonial cultures of ancient Peru.
Rodolfo received the discipline of the Chavín mesa through years of apprenticeship under the late Maestro Don Howard Lawler.
This work is not presented as a separate experience.
It follows the preparation created through Ayahuasca.
Huachuma stabilizes what was revealed.
It brings clarity, orientation, and integration.
When the two traditions are carried correctly, they do not compete.
They complete one another.
Retreat Structure
Each retreat is held in small ceremonial groups.
This allows the curanderos to work closely with each participant and ensures the process remains personal and properly guided.
For this reason retreats are scheduled periodically rather than continuously.
The intention is not volume.
It is integrity of the work.
Why the retreats follow this sequence
At Banco Puma the medicines are not blended into a single retreat for intensity.
They are sequenced.
Ayahuasca prepares the ground.
Huachuma teaches how to walk it.
The Amazon clears.
The Andes instruct.
This structure has been carried for generations because it allows the work to unfold without pressure and without confusion.
Participants are not moved through ceremonies.
They are guided through a process.
